The Meter Reading Section and the Meter Repair and Installation Section make up the Meter Division. The Meter Reader’s gather the information from all the electric and water meters in the city, using hand-held reading devices. The information in these devices is then downloaded into a computer that interfaces with the billing computer in the Finance Department to generate each individual utility bill. With the use of these devices, our meter readers are showing an accuracy rate of 99.86%. The Meter Repair and installation section installs and repairs all the water meters and insures their accuracy by having them periodically checked, calibrated and replaced as necessary.
