Office of Government Operations

WELCOME

This website provides an introduction to the many ongoing community projects and programs we have implemented to improve the quality of life for those in our City.

East Point is a city rich in history and deeply committed to both the idea and the practice of building a strong community.

Through our Capital Improvement Program (CIP), we have committed to addressing the growing needs of the community through major public improvement projects. Capital improvement projects are economic and operational activities that relate to the acquisition, construction, maintenance or operation of capital assets. Capital assets include land, streets, water and sewer infrastructures, transportation, equipment and other items of value from which the community derives benefits for a designated period of time.

High on the priority list of these CIP projects is our effort to improve and protect the water resources to sustain viable economic growth of our area and provide competitive water resource rates. With the current drought conditions throughout our state, conservation and promoting environmental awareness remains the most critical component of our long-term water supply strategy.

We have developed a strategic plan that will allow us to provide a comprehensive operation and maintenance program in each department that assures the level of service reflects the budgeted resources available.

Our local leadership in conjunction with the public, state and federal departments is implementing conservation programs that enhance, sustain and facilitate the stewardship of our most precious natural resource. Our citizens are an integral part of this effort.

Thank you for visiting The City of East Point’s Office of Government Operations website. I hope you enjoy your visit and please come back often for news and updates!

Herbert Humphrey, P.E.
